Robert Frederick Xenon Geldof KBE (5 ottobre 1951), noto semplicemente
come Bob Geldof, è un cantante ed attivista politico irlandese.
Biografia Geldof ha iniziato la carriera come cantante del suo gruppo i
Boomtown Rats ma è conosciuto in tutto il mondo soprattutto per il suo
impegno a favore della lotta contro la fame e le malattie in Africa;
questo impegno negli anni lo ha portato a trascurare la carriera musicale.
Partecipa anche come attore, nella parte del protagonista Pink, nel film
The Wall dei Pink Floyd diretto da Alan Parker.
Progetti benefici Nel 1985 è stato con Midge Ure il promotore del
progetto Band Aid, poi sfociato nell'organizzazione del Live Aid, concerto
rock tenutosi il 13 luglio, 1985 in due diversi continenti, lo stadio di
Wembley a Londra, e lo stadio JFK di Philadelphia. A questa
